A local firm, not a national agency

BA Harper Roofing has traded as a limited company since 2007. The firm grew out of a family roofing tradition founded by Ben Harper. We're based in the TW1 area and work across Twickenham, St Margarets, Teddington and Richmond upon Thames. Victorian and Edwardian terraces, 1930s semis and modern homes all have their own roofing quirks, and we know most of them well.

Older properties in this part of South West London often bring slate roofs, tricky chimneys and lead work. Riverside and conservation-area homes need an especially sympathetic touch. On a period home the chimney is often where a leak starts — perished mortar, cracked flaunching or failed lead flashing tracking water down the stack — and we renew lead to the correct code and re-point the stack, or remove a redundant chimney and make the roof good.

uPVC and timber roofline, new guttering and downpipes, plus gutter cleaning and repairs.

The roofline channels rainwater safely off the roof and away from the walls. Because water gets into the timber and brickwork once it fails, we renew tired timber with low-maintenance uPVC and fit new guttering and downpipes.

Roof-window installation, skylight replacement and dormer roofing for lofts and conversions.

A roof window transforms a dark loft and a dormer turns dead roof space into a proper room, but the flashings and cheeks are where a badly fitted window or dormer starts to leak — we fit these into the roof slope and build the roofing element of the conversion itself.
